With TVERSKY’s upcoming debut album just around the corner, the high-powered electrofunk duo have unveiled their first advance single called “Set me free”. A little over a year after their acclaimed hit “1985”, the Barcelona’s funk heavyweights are back with another nostalgic piece of nu-disco that serves as a feel-good ode to liberation and breaking the routine, which starts out with Alan (IMAR IMAR) singing a simple yet powerful “It’s so easy / when you get down on the floor”. Simply put, TVERSKY are inviting us to forget our troubles and just dance.
This groovy and home-produced cut (as all other songs by TVERSKY) is filled with a mix of electronic and organic elements, where the predominance of synthesizers is complemented with live instrumentation that ranges from orchestral arrangements to electric bass and guitar - not to mention Xavier’s (aka PARADISE) usual Rhodes Piano and clavinet that make up their tracks. Once again, the duo show their ability to reconcile classic and modern sounds, all packaged in their quirky brand of 70s and 80s inspired electrofunk.
